Physiotherapy for sports injuries and rehabilitation

Our experienced team of physiotherapists use their clinical expertise with evidence-based treatment methods to get the best results for pain, sports injuries and rehabilitation.

We are passionate about helping you to return to pain-free, normal functioning and to get you back to doing what is most important to you – sport, work or everyday living.

What do physiotherapists do?

    • Assess you and your symptoms.
    • Explain your diagnosis and the expected time for your recovery.
    • Listen to you and agree the best methods of treatment for your condition.
    • Treat you with dignity to provide relief from your pain.
    • Listen to you and work with you to best manage your rehabilitation, prevent further pain and reduce the risk of recurrent injury.

Early diagnosis and management of your pain is essential to ensure your recovery time is minimised and you can get back to doing the things that are important to you. Initial relief of your pain is an important part of your initial treatment.

Physiotherapy can assist in also correcting other factors that may contribute to your condition to ensure your long-term recovery.

Injury prevention is an important part of your treatment plan to help minimise recurrent or persisting problems.

Dry needling

Our physiotherapists often include acupuncture or dry needling in their treatment as the evidence base for this in physiotherapy has increased substantially over the past decade.

Dry needling is often used in addition to other treatment options to effectively treat acute and chronic back pain, chronic neck pain, tension-type and migraine headaches, pelvic girdle pain, knee osteoarthritis, lateral elbow pain and shoulder conditions.

Home visits

We have a dedicated team who provides a home physiotherapy service in St George and Sutherland Shire areas, especially for those with longer-term requirements. This service is provided by our sister company Action Home Rehab Physiotherapy.

Many chronic health problems, acute injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation clients are managed more effectively when treated in the comfort of their own homes. Practical problems affecting everyday living in your home can be addressed with exercises and rehabilitation specifically tailored to your home environment.

Physiotherapy at home also enables other members of your family or carers to be involved in the development of management plans and helps gain a better understanding of the condition and how to help.

Our home visit service extends to visits to Aged Care facilities either during periods of respite or for longer-term care.

Waterproof casts & splints

Our therapists are fully trained in the application and removal of waterproof casts and splints.

We should usually be able to fit you in for a same-day appointment. Just bring in your -rays and reports to the clinic and you will be in good hands.

Sometimes a cast is not the most appropriate option and a brace may be a better alternative. We stock a variety of braces but we may need to order one especially for you to ensure the best fit, immobilisation and comfort.

We can remove casts (whether we have fitted them or not) and then provide necessary rehabilitation if required.
