December 4, 2013
George

Recent research has found that only 15% of pregnant women are following current exercise guidelines during pregnancy, i.e. >20 minutes of moderate intensity activity, at least 3 times/week.

Following these exercise guidelines in mid-pregnancy has been shown to reduce the prevalence of low-back pain, pelvic girdle pain and depression in late pregnancy.

If you're pregnant and would like advice about a safe exercise program, talk to one of our physios or our exercise physiologist!
