Sprains & strains

Most sprains and strains are caused by trauma or overuse and require a comprehensive assessment of your problem which may include your gait and foot posture, and then agreeing a realistic plan for your recovery.

The physiotherapists will treat your pain and swelling with local soft tissue massage, taping/splinting, joint mobilisation, compression bandage, cold / heat therapy, ultrasound or TENS.

You will need to develop your strength, flexibility and control using stability exercises and stretches – balance and proprioception exercises are likely to be included in your rehabilitation plan.

We stock braces, splints, taping products, heel and bunion padding/lift, orthotics, balance disc, Theraband and Theratubing to compliment your rehabilitation plan.
