Wrist pain is usually due to overuse, soft tissue injury, inflammation of the tendon or fracture and can be a minor or it can be a very serious, depending upon which tissue or structures have been injured, and how badly.
A scaphoid fracture of the is the most commonly broken of the carpal bones, accounting for 80–90% of all such fractures. As a pivotal component of the wrist, it is essential that the fracture is identified and heals properly through the right treatment and for the right period of time.

The timing of your return to work and sport will depend upon your injury, your recovery and the demands placed on your wrist from particular activities. The fitting of a brace may help with an earlier safe return to sport or work activities.
